This series of subcompact cars began its life in 1997, when the first generation of the A-class in the back of the W168 appeared. The second and third generations were developed in 2004 and 2012, respectively. So what is characteristic of this class of machines and why is it so important for the company.
It all started in 1990, when Mercedes-Benz engineers decided to release their compact car in a small price segment. As a prototype was assembled Mercedes-Benz NAFA, which even for its time looked very doubtful.

Later, the first generation was presented, which also became the first front-wheel drive class of cars from Mercedes. Engine power ranged from 102 to 126 hp, and diesel units had only 60 - 90 hp.

Subsequent generations and a series of restyled versions made the A-Class truly massive and popular. Due to the low cost, the car fell in love with students and youth.
The last generation is considered the current fourth. Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W177) has a sports design and is equipped with modern electronic devices. The engine power of the base models remained in the same range, however, there are equipment with a power of 224 and 306 hp.http://fiatforum.lv/http://fiatforum.lv/
